PE Days for Y2 Beech Class:

Our class will have PE on Tuesday and Thursday. 

Tuesday =  Outdoor PE

Thursday = Indoor PE

Please remember to send your child to school with PE kit. They need a pair of
trainers, a white/blue t-shirt and plain grey/black/blue shorts or a plain
grey/blue/black tracksuit.
No jewellery can be worn during PE lessons: earrings must be removed.

Summer 2 -  Where in the world is Sheffield?

Literacy -  We will be reading the story 'The Day the Crayons Quit' in literacy this half term. We will be focusing on persuasive language used, creating lots of opportunities for some drama activities! This will then lead into some lovely persuasive letter writing.

Maths - We will be looking at statistics this half term, using class discussions to make our own bar graphs, pictograms and tally charts! we then be looking at telling the time, focusing on quarter past, quarter to, then moving on to telling the time to  5 minutes.

Geography- Our Geography focus this half term is all about Sheffield and our local area. We will be exploring the human and physical geography features of Sheffield, looking at the seven hills and rivers. We will then explore maps of our local area and the symbols we can use to show roads, train stations and shops etc.

Art - We are learning all about the artist Laura Bethman, who creates art work using printing techniques and items found in nature. 

Music - We will be using a piece of music called ' The Ants Go Marching By' to create our own music and compose using instruments.

P.E - We will be learning and understanding how to select and apply fundamental skills to games; and understand how to evaluate and improve their performance.

RSHE - This half term we will be learning about internet safety and the importance of privacy and how to stay safe in terms of gaming, strangers and being kind.
