The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. At Norfolk we ensure we follow these standards by:

  • Ensuring all children make good progress and become confident, independent learners
  • Children’s learning is tracked and supported through observations of children on an individual basis
  • As a school we work with other professionals to ensure children access services and support for any additional needs as early as possible
  • Ensuring we work closely with parents to enable us to get the best picture of how children are developing in the different areas of learning.

What can you expect from the provision at Norfolk Primary?

  • A safe, good quality learning environment operating under Safeguarding Children legislation & Ofsted regulations
  • While your child is with us, we will take good care of them and talk to you about anything important that we observe
  • Regular, efficient and accurate record keeping
  • If your child transfers to another nursery or school, we will share any information with them that will help to support your child’s move
  • Contact from us when your child hasn’t attended and you have not let us know the reason for their absence
  • Prompt action to any problem you tell us about

Please see the EYFS on the 'Curriculum' page for more information regarding the children's learning

Norfolk Reception

We have 2 Reception classes which can each have a maximum of 30 children each.

The classes spend a lot of time together as there is a sliding door which opens so children can access each other’s learning environments.

We believe in giving children plenty of opportunities to explore the outside environment so children in Reception have access to a very large engaging outdoor provision.

Norfolk Nursery

In our Nursery parents can choose if they want their child to come in the morning or afternoon sessions if they are eligible for 15 hours. Morning sessions run from 8.30am until 11.30am. Afternoon sessions run from 12.15pm until 3.15pm. We also accept children whose parents are eligible for 30 free hours. There are also some places available for parents to pay WRAP around costs so their child can have additional nursery sessions.

Little Norfolk Nursery

Little Norfolk is the provision we have available for 2-year-old children. We have 12 places in the morning and 12 in the afternoon. If parents are eligible for 15 free hours, children can stay for a 3-hour session each day. Morning sessions run from 8.30am until 11.30am. Afternoon sessions run from 12.15pm until 3.15pm. We also have some paid places available.
