The Pride at Norfolk Community Primary School provides integrated support for Key Stage 2 children (Years 3 to 6) with Social and Communication Needs. Each child in The Pride has an E.H.C.P and has been placed by the Local Authority Placement Panel through the Annual Review and EHCP Assessment process.
The Pride creates a nurturing environment where learning is tailored and delivered in small steps to suit each child's needs. Children engage in learning through play, exploration, and personalized activities. The curriculum is broad, balanced, and designed to be aspirational while addressing each child's unique strengths.
In addition to focusing on core academic development, time is dedicated to achieving individual EHCP targets, enhancing emotional literacy, and developing life skills to prepare children for life beyond The Pride.
The Pride is an Integrated Resource, not a specialist one. This means that while much of the learning occurs in the resource base, children also spend time in their mainstream classroom with their year group.
The extent of integration each week is tailored to the individual needs of each child, with an emphasis on fostering success, peer interaction, and the application of targeted skills and knowledge.
