How Norfolk Navigators Support Foundational Knowledge
Our curriculum is explicitly designed to ensure children know more, remember more and can do more.
The Navigators reinforce foundational knowledge through:
- We Are Knowledgeable: pupils understand why knowledge matters and how it helps them navigate the world.
- We Are Articulate: children are taught to use precise vocabulary, supporting schema-building across subjects.
- We Are Curious: enquiry questions help pupils deepen and revisit key concepts.
- We Are Reflective: children evaluate what they have learned and identify gaps, directly supporting ongoing formative assessment.
The Whole School Foundational Knowledge Progression ensures essential concepts are sequenced from Nursery to Year 6. The Navigators then activate this knowledge through behaviours and habits.
