Administering medicine in school
If your child has prescription medicine that must be administered during school hours, please collect a medicine request form from the office. The office will be happy to help you fill out a medication form detailing the medication to be given and, if needed, the administration details.
Please note that any medicine needs to be prescribed by a health professional and have your child's details printed on the label.
Regular school attendance is extremely important, and ensuring this for your child demonstrates how much you value their development and want the best for their future.
However, we understand that children are sometimes too unwell to attend school and that deciding when to keep your child at home can be tricky.
The advice you will find here will help you to make the best decision for your child.
Remember that you can display any information on our website in your language by clicking the dropdown arrow above.
On the Healthier Together website (see link below), this is also possible, along with the ability to read out information aloud.
If you are still unsure, please contact the main school office on 0114 250 2760, and our staff will be happy to advise you further.
We will never keep a sick child in school, so always ensure that we have an up-to-date contact number to contact you if your child needs to go home early.
